AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
SECTION 8.06.020, RELATING TO THE CRIME OF CONTRIBUTING TO
DELINQUENCY OF A MINOR, AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, the Tukwila City Council desires to amend the existing ordinance
governing the crime of contributing to delinquency of a minor, and
WHEREAS, this amendment governing the crime of contributing to delinquency
of a minor is in the interest of the public health, safety and welfare,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 8.06.020 Amended. Section 8.06.020 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
8.06.020 Contributing to the Delinauencv of a Minor.
A. A person is guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a child if,
by act or omission, he knowingly causes or encourages a child to commit, or
otherwise contributes to a child's commission of, any delinquent act.
Contributing to deliquency of a child is a misdemeanor.
B. For purposes of this Section, the following definition shall apply:
1. "Child" is any person under the age of 18 years at the time of
the act complained of; and
2. "Delinquent act" means any act or omission for which an adult
could be charged with a crime.
Section 2. Severabilitv. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of
competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not
affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence,
clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in force and effect
five days after publication of the attached Summary which is hereby approved.

On 624. ,a?/ 1989, the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed
Ordinance NO /6 which provides as follows: amends existing Section
8.06.020 of the Tukwila Municipal Code governing the crime of contributing to
delinquency of a minor by providing for the circumstances establishing guilt
of a person contributing to such delinquency; contains a severability
provision; and establishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone
who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a
copy of the text.
