ORDINANCE NO. As °z 9
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF
BLANKET TENANT IMPROVEMENT BUILDING PERMITS FOR
QUALIFYING APPLICANTS AND PROJECTS, AND PROVIDING
FOR FEES THEREFOR; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes there are certain building projects where it is
neither necessary nor desirable for an applicant to wait for final issuance of a building
permit before commencing tenant improvements, and
WHEREAS, applicants and projects most suitable for such "blanket permitting"
procedures are best determined by administrative policy,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Blanket Permittine_ Allowed. Qualifying applicants and projects may be
issued an annual blanket permit to allow tenant improvements to start before issuance of a
building permit.
Section 2. Policv and Procedure. Rules and regulations for determining qualifying
applicants and projects and the policies and procedures to be used are to be determined by
the Administration and kept on file with and administered by the Building Official of the
City.
Section 3. Fees and Securitv. The administrative policy shall require a fee for a
blanket permit of $2,500 for each calendar year or part thereof and shall require that there be
in effect at all times a cash or surety bond acceptable to the City in the amount of $250,000 to
guarantee that all projects will be constructed pursuant to building permits finally issued.
Section 4. Blanket Permit Not in Lieu of Reeular Permits. The purpose of the blanket
permit is to allow early construction and such permit is not in lieu of all normally required
permits, and the policies and procedures shall require timely applications and fees for all
such permits.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in
the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after
passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, at a

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 1529
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE AND ADMINISTRATION OF
BLANKET TENANT IMPROVEMENT BUILDING PERMITS FOR
QUALIFYING APPLICANTS AND PROJECTS, AND PROVIDING
FOR FEES THEREFOR; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
On August 7, 1989, the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed Ordinance No
1529, which provides as follows: allows the issuance and administration of, and sets
fees for, blanket tenant improvement building permits for qualifying applicants, and
establishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who
submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the
text.
