ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
ACCEPTING THE TRANSFER OF FOUR SERVICE CUSTOMER
OWNERSHIPS TO TWO SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCES AT
13712 56TH AVENUE AND 13904 56TH PLACE SOUTH, ONE
DUPLEX AT 13720 AND 13720 -1/2 56TH AVENUE SOUTH,
AND ONE SEVEN -UNIT MULTIPLEX AT 13710 56TH AVENUE
SOUTH FROM KING COUNTY WATER DISTRICT NO. 125.
WHEREAS, RCW 35.13A.050 authorizes cities and towns to accept the
transfer of, and assume the responsibility for, facilities owned by water districts
whose boundaries overlap those of the City, and
WHEREAS, King County Water District No. 125 is the owner of three 5/8"
water meters at two single- family residential properties located at 13712 56th
Avenue South and 13904 56th Place South one duplex at 13720 and 13720-1/2
56th Avenue South, and one 1" water meter at one seven -unit multiplex at
13710 56th Avenue South, and
WHEREAS, The City of Tukwila has built a parallel water system in 56th
Avenue South and 56th Place South to serve these customers in the future, and
due to the current residential street improvement project which makes the
transfer of these services appropriate at this time from King County Water
District No. 125 system, now accepts the transfer of service from No. 125 to the
City of Tukwila and authorizes the City of Tukwila to make connection to and
provide meters and services to their own system serving these customers, and
WHEREAS, the City Public Works Department has recommended to the
City Council the water meters be accepted via the approval of the plans for the
56th Avenue South residential street improvement project and the City Council
has determined to follow the recommendation of the Public Works Department,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Accevtance of Transfer of Ownershiv and Responsibility for
Maintenance. The City of Tukwila does hereby accept the ownership and full
responsibility for the maintenance of said services and will supply meters and
services under the same terms and conditions that the City maintains other
meters located within the City.
Section 2. Effective Date of Transferral of Services. The City of Tukwila,
through the construction of the 56th Avenue /Place South street improvement
project, will provide a cutoff date and final reading at the time of cutoff of Water
District No. 125 service and initiation of the new City services.
Section 3. Effective Date of Ordinance. This ordinance or a summary
thereof shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take
effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by
law.

duplex, and one seven -unit multiplex from King County Water District No.

to anyone who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of
Tukwila for a copy of the text.
