ORDINANCE NO. I S 17
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHING-
TON, AMENDING THE 1989 BUDGET, ADOPTED BY ORDIN-
ANCE NO. 1493, TO ADD UNANTICIPATED ESTIMATED
BEGINNING FUND BALANCE AND PROVIDE CONTRACTED
POLICE SERVICE EXPENDITURES TO THE GENERAL FUND
FOR THE FOSTER, RIVERTON AND THORNDYKE ANNEXA-
TION AREAS; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the 1989 adopted budget underestimated the General Fund
Beginning Fund Balance, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila has entered into an interlocal agreement to
provide contracted police services for the Foster, Riverton and Thorndyke areas for
a 45-day period ending June 1, 1989, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide police protection to its newly annexed
areas,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following program categories in the 1989 budget, as adopted by
Ordinance No. 1493, passed by the City Council on December 19, 1988, are hereby
amended to read as follows:
GENERAL FUND
Revenues:
Estimated Beginning Fund Balance 000 291 700 $200,000
Expenditures:
King County Contracted Police Services 000 10 521 220 51 97,225
Estimated Ending Fund Balance 000 20 291800 102,775
TOTAL EXPENDITURES $200,000
Section 2. Ordinance No. 1493, passed by the City Council on December 19,
1988, is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of estimated revenues
and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing increases in
revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to
effectuate the necessary changes to the 1989 budget and to make all necessary and
appropriate line item entries and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to
revenues and appropriations as set forth in this ordinance.
Section 4. Effective Date of Ordinance. This ordinance or a summary thereof
shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be
in full force five (5) days after passage and publication as provided by law.

AMENDING THE 1989 BUDGET, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO.

On )5_ 1 the City Council of the City of Tukwila,
passed Ordinance No f which provides as follows: Amends Ordinance
No. 1493 to add unanticipated estimated beginning fund balance and provide
contracted police services for the Foster, Riverton and Thorndyke areas for a
45 day period ending June 1, 1989, and establishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to
anyone who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila
for a copy of the text.
