ORDINANCE NO. 1-:T
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
ORDINANCE NO. 1496 TO EXTEND THE MCI TELECOMMUNICATIONS
CORPORATION FRANCHISE TO NEWLY ANNEXED AREAS
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously passed Ordinance No. 1496
granting MCI Telecommunications Corporation a franchise for underground fiber
optic cables through specified roadways in the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has passed Ordinance No. 1503 annexing a
contiguous area effective March 31, 1989, and
WHEREAS, the path of the fiber optic cable will cross two additional
roadways in the newly annexed area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to extend the franchise to
these two additional crossings, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Franchise Extended. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1496 is hereby
amended to add paragraphs D and E, as follows:
D. Boeing Access Road, where the same is crossed by the Union
Pacific right -of -way.
E. 50th Place South, where the same is crossed by the Union Pacific
right -of -way.
Section 2. Additional Administrative Fee. Pursuant to Section 23 of
Ordinance No. 1496 and RCW 35.21.860, an additional administrative fee of
$2,000 is hereby imposed for the franchise extension which the City Council
determines to be the actual costs of receiving and approving this extension
and inspecting plans and construction in the extended areas. Such additional
fees shall be paid as provided in Ordinance No. 1496.
Section 3. Reaffirmation. All other provisions of Ordinance No. 1496 are
reaffirmed and all such provisions shall apply to the new franchise locations.
Section 4. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five days after publication of the attached Summary which is hereby
approved, or March 31, 1989, whichever is later.

On Wicut.... 40 1989, the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed
Ordinance No. /SO b which provides as follows: extends the franchise to
newly annexed areas; imposes an additional administrative fee; and establishes
an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone
who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a
copy of the text.
