AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 14.04.240 AND 14.04.330, OF THE
TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE; AND AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
1407, SECTION 24(a), AND SECTIONS 4(A) AND (B)
RELATING TO METERED WATER RATES.
WHEREAS, the City has approved certain Capital Improvement Projects for
the Water Fund, and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to have in place an equitable and
adequate rate structure to finance the Capital Improvement Projects and the
operation and maintenance of the Utilities assets,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
I. Ordinance No. 1407, Section 24(a) adopted the 17th day of November,
1986, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 24 (TMC 14.04.240Ca]) Rates for Metered Water.
(a) The rates for metered water supplied within the City, in one month
or fractional part thereof, shall be in accordance with the following schedule:
(1) Commercial /Industrial Customers
Size of Service Base Charge
3/4 inch 8.50
1 inch 13.50
1 -1/2 inch 19.00
2 inch 24.50
3 inch 47.00
4 inch 63.00
6 inch 115.00
8 inch 176.00
In addition, for each 100 cubic feet of water used, the rate shall be
n-i -nety -nine ccnts one dollar and twelve cents per 100 cubic feet.
(2) Single- family Customers (one dwelling unit). The base water
charge will be $4.00 for each account. In addition, for each 100 cubic feet of
water used, the rate shall be eighty -cents eighty -five cents per 100 cubic feet.
(3) Multi- family Customers (more than one dwelling unit). The
minimum charge will be $4.00 for each dwelling unit. In addition, for each 100
cubic feet of water used, the rate shall be eighty cents eighty -five cents per
100 cubic feet.

Section 4 (TMC 14.04.330[d]) Temporary Water Meters
(d) Rates for water used through temporary meters are as follows:
(A) Three fourths inch and one -inch, twenty -five dollars plus
water usage at the rate of cighty ccnts eighty -five cents per one hundred cubic
feet for Single family and Multi- family accounts, and -R-in-c y ninc cmss one
dollar and twelve cents for Commercial /Industrial accounts.
(B) Two and one half -inch, fifty dollars plus water usage at the
rate of eighty ccnts eighty -five cents per one hundred cubic feet for Single-
family and Multi- family accounts and ninety- ninc-ccnts one dollar and twelve
cents for Commercial /Industrial accounts.
V. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance should be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of com-
petent jurisdiction, such invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not effect the
validity or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance.
VI. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force on J,
