AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1358 TO PROVIDE
THAT, WHERE MORE THAN ONE TOWING FIRM IS OWNED BY
A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL, SUCH FIRM SHALL BE TREATED
AS A SINGLE FIRM FOR PURPOSES OF ROTATING POLICE
REQUESTS FOR TOWING ASSISTANCE.
WHEREAS, Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1358 of the City of Tukwila, passed
by the City Council on August 5, 1985, provides that the Police Department shall
rotate requests for towing assistance among licensed tow truck operators who
have requested to be placed upon an alphabetical list, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that such rotation's purpose
of evenly distributing police requests among such operators may be circumvented
if individuals owning more than one tow truck business may have each business
owned listed separately on the alphabetical list,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Police Requests for Towing Assistance. Section 2 of
Ordinance No. 1358 of the City of Tukwila is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2. Police Requests. When the owner of a motor vehicle has not
requested a specific towing f i r m and relies upon the Police Department to
call a tow truck for him, the Police Department shall call tow truck opera-
tors from an alphabetical list and shall rotate the calls so that such calls
are evenly distributed among the licensed tow truck operators who have been
requested to be placed upon such list, provided that, where a single person,
firm or corporation operates more than one towing business, all such towing
businesses shall be listed as a single entity on the rotation list. The
Police Department shall keep a record of all requests for towing assistance
which shall be available for public inspection.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall
be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be
in full force five (5) days after the date of publication.

regular meeting thereof this day of 1988.

AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1358 TO PROVIDE

On 1988, the City Council of the City of
Tukwila passed OrdAnance No. /4642 which provides as follows:
Section 1. Amends Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1358 to limit the number
of times towing firms owned by a single individual may appear on the towing
rotation list.
Section 2. Establishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone
who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a
copy of the text.
