HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1443 - 1988 City Metro Rates for Sanitary Sewer Service (Repealed by Ord 1473) S TALA 1906 CITY OF TUKWI J� WASHINGTO/N/ �3 ORDINANCE NO. 1 3 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING SECTION 14.16.065 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE TO RAISE THE CITY /METRO RATE FOR SANITARY SEWER SERVICE DUE TO AN INCREASE BY METRO, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NOS. 1401 AND 1441 EFFECTIVE JAN. 1, 1988. WHEREAS, the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle (Metro) has notified the City of its intent to increase its monthly charges to the City for sanitary sewage disposal from the present $9.70 per month per residential equivalent to $9.90 per month per residential equivalent, said increase to be effective July 1, 1988, and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City to pass this increase on to customers of the City sewer system, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. City /Metro Rate. Section 14.16.065 of the Tukwila Muni- cipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: TMC 14.16.065 City /Metro Rate. The City /Metro charges as pro- vided for in Section 14.16.060 and as required by the Agreement for Sewage Disposal between the Municipality of Metropolitan Seattle and the City of Tukwila is set at the sum of nine dollars and ninety cents ($9.90) per month per residential customer and per residential customer equivalents. Every person sixty -two years of age or older (if married, then either spouse) and every person totally and permanently disabled residing in a separately metered dwelling and who is paying directly for such separately billed service either as owner, purchaser or renter, and whose individual income if a single person or combined income, if a married couple, from all sources is less than twelve thousand dollars per year shall pay the following rate for Metro services to such dwelling: a flat rate of four dollars and ninety -five cents ($4.95) per month. Every such person shall file with the Finance Department their affidavit that he or she is qualified to be charged the special rate. Such affidavits are to contain information as required by the Finance Director in order to estab- lish eligibility. Each affidavit will also include an unqualified promise to inform the City of any changes in financial condi- tion that would disqualify the person for the special rate. The Finance Director may require affidavits on an annual basis if deemed necessary. APPROVED AS TO FORM: //4 \yffice of th i'ty (42 /ORD.SEWER) Section 2. Repealer. Ordinance No. 1401 passed by the City Council on October 6, 1986, and Ordinance No. 1441 passed by the City Council on July 20, 1987, is hereby repealed. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect January 1, 1988, which date is more than five (5) days after publication of the attached summary which is hereby approved. On 1987, the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed Ord ni ance No. /4/13 which provides as follows: Section 1. Amends Section 14.16.065 of the Tukwila Municipal Code to raise the City /Metro charge from the current $9.70 per residential equivalent to $9.90 per residential equivalent. Section 2. Repeals Ordinance Nos. 1401 and 1441. Section 3. Establishes an effective date for the ordinance of Janu- ary 1, 1987. The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
