HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1442 - Shut-Off Notices for Delinquent Water Billings (Repealed by Ord 1766) 0 1AA 1906 CI TUKW WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO. f( AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING TMC 14.04.125, CHARGE FOR SHUT -OFF NOTICES FOR DELINQUENT WATER SERVICE BILLINGS, TO PROVIDE FOR PAYMENT OF ALL MONIES IN ARREARS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 1379. WHEREAS, water customers are not presently required to pay all past due monies when shut -off notices are distributed, and WHEREAS, it is the City's desire to keep all water accounts current, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 14.04.125 of the Tukwila Municipal Code amended. Section 14.04.125 of the Tukwila Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: TMC 14.04.125 Charge for Shut -Off Notices for Delinquent Water Service Billings. When water service customers are sixty days in arrears, a shut -off notice is posted. There shall be a service charge of ten dollars ($10.00) on water accounts for all shut -off notices. This charge will be applied first before regular service charges are credited. All monies in arrears, which is defined as the amount owing eleven (11) days after the billing date, are due upon receipt of a shut- off notice. To avoid water shut -off, arrangements for payment may be made with the Finance Director. Section 2. Ordinance repealed. Ordinance No. 1379, adopted January 20, 1986, is hereby repealed. Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after its passage and publication as provided by law.
