AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,

350 AMENDING SECTION 12.08.030 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WITHIN
A PARK ON PAVED PARKING LOTS AND ROADWAYS.
WHEREAS, the Tukwila City Council finds that Section
12.08.030 of the Tukwila Municipal Code has been declared invalid
by the Tukwila Municipal Court, and
WHEREAS, the Tukwila City Council finds that the prohibition
of operating a motor vehicle in a public park should not extend
to paved parking lots and roadways, now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Operation of Vehicles in Public Parks. Section
12.08.030 of the Tukwila Municipal Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
12.08.030 Motor Vehicle Operations. It is unlawful to
operate any motor vehicle in a public park except upon a
paved roadway or parking lot, provided, however, that the
Public Works Director or Parks Director may give written
authorization for the operation of a motor vehicle at any
place within a public park when such vehicle is being
operated in furtherance of City business.
Section 2. Severability. If any section, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such
invalidity or unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity
or constitutionality of any other section, sentence, clause or
phrase of this ordinance.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in full office five (5) days after publication of
the attached summary which is hereby approved.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 12.08.030 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL
CODE TO PERMIT THE OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WITHIN
A PARK ON PAVED PARKING LOTS AND ROADWAYS.
On Z a O 1987, the City Council of the City of
Tukwila passed Ordinance No. /43 which provides as follows:
Sectionl. Amends Section 12.08.030 of the Tukwila Municipal
Code to prohibit driving in City parks except on paved roadways
and parking lots.
Section 2. Provides for severability.
Section 3. Establishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without
charge to anyone who submits a written request to the City Clerk
of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
