REPEALED BY 1382
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON
ESTABLISHING LEGAL HOLIDAYS FOR MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES
AND AMENDING SECTION 2.52.030 OF THE TUKWILA
MUNICIPAL CODE AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 822.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 2.52.030 of the Tukwila Municipal
Code be amended to read as follows:
2.52.030 Legal Holidays. (a) The following are established as
legal holidays in each year for employees of the City without loss of
pay:
January 1
February 12
Third Monday in February
Last Monday in May
July 4
First Monday in September
November 11
Fourth Thursday in November
Fourth Friday in November
December 25
At employee's choice
New Year's Day
Lincoln's Birthday
Washington's Birthday
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day
The day after Thanksgiving
Christmas
Floating Holiday
b. Floating Holiday. An employee may select one personal holiday
each calendar year, and the city must grant the day provided:
1. The employee has been or is scheduled to be continuously
employed by the City for more than 4 months.
2. The employee has given not less than 14 calendar days'
written notice to the supervisor, provided, however, the
employee and the supervisor may agree upon an earlier date,
and,
3. The number of employees selecting a particular day off
does not prevent the city from providing continued public
service.
c. The personal holiday must be taken during the calendar year of
entitlement or the day will lapse, except when an employee has
requested a personal holiday and the request has been denied.
d. Nothing in this section shall be construed to have the effect of
adding or deleting the number of paid holidays provided for in
existing agreement between employees and employers.

Section 2. Ordinance No. 822 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
