AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
�I�/[� AMENDING SECTION 14.04.090 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE
TO EXEMPT FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES FROM THE REQUIREMENT
OF BEING METERED.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has recommended to the
City Council that water used for fire protection service not be
required to be supplied through a meter, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Metered Water. Section 14.04.090 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
14.04.090 Connection to Main. All water used for any
purpose other than fire protection service shall be
supplied tnrougn a meter. Every house or building
supplied by City water must install its own separate
service connection with the City main and the house or
building so supplied will not be allowed to supply water
to others, except temporarily where there are no mains
in the street. When a new main is laid in any street,
owners of property on the street who are being supplied
with City water from a private main or a connection to a
private service shall make application for a tap and
shall connect up with a separate service connection to
the main in front of the property.
Section 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall take
effect and be in full force five (5) days after publication of the
attached summary which is hereby approved.

WASHINGTON, at a regular meeting thereof this day of

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. /4
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 14.04.090 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE
TO EXEMPT FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES FROM THE REQUIREMENT
BEING METERED.
On act 1 7 1987, the City Council of the City
of Tukwila passed Ordinance No. which provid4s as
follows:
Section 1. Amends Section 14.04.090 of the Tukwila Municipal
Code to exempt water used for fire protection service from the
requirement that a water be supplied through a meter.
Section 2. Estabishes an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge
to anyone who submits a written request to the City Clerk of the
City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
