AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, ADOPTING A NEW PARKS,
GOLF AND OPEN SPACE PLAN; REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 1669; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, RCW 35A.63.062 authorizes the City of Tukwila to perform comprehensive
park and open space planning; and
WHEREAS, the Tukwila City Council did request that the administration (through the
Parks and Recreation Department) prepare an updated Parks, Golf and Open Space Plan,
which includes a Master Development Plan for Foster Golf Links; and
WHEREAS, the City administration, Parks Commission and Arts Commission have
completed review and modification of the plan, and have forwarded the plan to the City
Council for adoption; and
WHEREAS, the plan has been presented to the public for comment and modification at a
public hearing on July 10, 2000;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Parks, Golf and Open Space Plan, including the Master Development Plan
for Foster Golf Links, as prepared, is hereby adopted as the Parks, Golf and Open Space Plan
for the City of Tukwila.
Section 2. A copy of the plan, in the form adopted by this ordinance, shall be
authenticated and recorded by the City Clerk along with this ordinance and, pursuant to RCW
35A.12.140, not less than one copy of such documents shall be filed in the office of the City
Clerk for use and examination by the public.
Section 3. A copy of this ordinance and the Parks, Golf and Open Space Plan shall be
filed with the following City departments:
1. Community Development
2. Public Works Department
3. Finance Department
4. Parks Recreation Department
5. Mayor's Office
Section 4. The former Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan adopted by Ordinance
No. 1669 is hereby repealed.

Section 5. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase
of this ordinance or its application to any person or situation should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of
this ordinance or its application to any other person or situation.
Section 6. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the
official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force and effect five (5) days
after passage and publication as provided by law.
