Dear Barney:
In,reviewing the above mentioned project. plans, please note the
following' items:
1. Per Section 10.106(e) of the Uniform Fire Code,
no storage shall be permitted under exit stairs
unless the enclosed side is protected by one -
hour fire resistive construction. (Applies to
two stairways from the mezzanine).
Please check on the requirement for . exits from
thespray- painting and drying areas.
Hose stations are required per City Ordinance #730.
Fire extinguisher type, quantity and placement
shall be per NFPA #10.
Although not required by law, it is strongly
recommended that this facility be provided with.
automatic sprinkler protection.
. Have the owner provide a plot -plan of the area
showing distances to existing fire hydrants.
An additional hydrant may be required.
• Protective guard posts or curbs are required
around all gas meters, electrical vaults, sprinkler
valves and hydrants.
Venting of paint spray areas must meet approval
of the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency.
Electrical wiring and fixtures in the spray - paint
& drying areas must meet requirements of the National
Electrical Code. (Class 1, Division 1, and Class 1,
Division 2).
