In reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note .
the following items:
Exit signs are required on all exit doors.
Letters to be 6 inches high. Exits must
be illuminated at all times that the build -
ing is occupied, (UFC, Section 10.113)
. Per UFC Sec. 10.104(b), "All doors in or
leading to exits shall be maintained openable
from the inside without the use of a key or_
any special knowledge or effort at all times
building or area served thereby is
occupied ".
Post a sign.. at the main entrance stating,
"Occupant Load - 225 persons ".
:Per UBC Section 3205(b) "Enclosed attic spaces
'formed of combustible construction shall be
divided into horizontal areas not exceeding3000'
square feet by partitions extending from the'
ceiling to the roof ".
Fire extinguishers shall be provided per NFPA #10,
as.a minimum requirement.
Per OSHA requirements, extinguishers with a gross
weight of'40 pounds or less shall be hung so that
the top of the extinguisher is' not h'igher.than 60
inches above the floor. Extinguishers weighing
more than 40 pounds, shall be hung so that the top
of the unit is not higher than 42 inches above
the floor.
Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain.
view (if at all possible). If.not in'plain view,,
.they, shall'be identified, with a sign stating,
"FIRE_ EXTINGUISHER" with an arrow pointing.
Please include these comments in your review of the above
mentioned project.
