In :reviewing the above mentioned project plans, please note the
following items:
Service Area, Room 114, should be separated from .
the adjoining areas by one -hour fire- resistive walls.
Facilities should be implemented for the storage
and handling of flammable liquids such as gasoline,
paints, thinners, etc. This should be constructed
as a flammable liquid storage room per requirements
of Section 15.404 of the Uniform Fire Code.
Sprinkler system design for rooms 110, 111, 112,
114 and the flammable liquid storage room should
be for "Extra Hazard" protection.
Spray paint booths must be U.L. Approved or , composed'
.of'U.L. Approved components.

Cornices, architectural appendages, eave overhangs, exterior balco- (
nies and similar projections extending over public property shall be
constructed as specified for marquees in Chapter 45.
vHater Closet Compartments and Showers
Sec. 1711. (a) Floors and Walls. In other than dwelling units, toilet
room floors shall have a smooth, hard, nonabsorbent surface such as
portland cement, concrete, ceramic tile or other approved material
which extends upward onto the walls at least 5 inches. Walls within
ivater eioset compartments and walls within 2 feet of the front and
sides of urinals shall be similarly finished to a height of 4 feet and,
except for structural elements, the' materials used in such walls shall be
of a type which is not adversely affected by. moisture.
'(b) Toilet Facilities. Toilet facilities and water closet compartments
shall have a clear and unobstructed- access of'not less than 32 inches,
and a clear space, unobstructed' by door swing, grab bars and similar
items, of not less than 32 inches shall be provided in front of the toilet
stool. Grab bars shall be provided on two sides or one side and the back
of each toilet compartment.
EXCEPTIONS: 1. In Croup I and J Occupancies` °the water closet
compartments may be 30 inches in width and may have a clear space in
front of the toilet stool of not less than 24 inches. Grab bars need not be
provided 'in such occupancies nor in Croup H Occupancy apartment
houses.
2. Where more "than one toilet compartment is provided, only one
such compartment' need comply within each toilet room for each sex. Ah
others need,not have grab bars and clearances may be as specified in (
Exception No. 1. •
(c) Toilet Room Facilities. In other, than Groups I, J part -
meethouse Occupancies, toilet room`'facilities shall be as'follows:
1. Except for the prgection of bowls and waste piping, a clear
Unobstructed space' 26. inches in' width,'24 `inches in.height and
12 inches in depth shall be provided under at.least one'lavatory.
2. 'Where mirrors are,providea, at least, one shall be installed so that r
the` bottom of the `mirroris within 40 inches of the floor.
