AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1999 BUDGET
ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1860, PROVIDING FOR
UNANTICIPATED REVENUES AND BEGINNING FUND
BALANCE AND PROVIDING FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
EXPENDITURES IN THE GENERAL FUND (000) TO SUPPORT
A PREFERRED LIGHT RAIL ALTERNATIVE; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tukwila desires to meet the intent of the Growth Management Act;
and
WHEREAS, the City intends to ensure the most effective use of providing mass transit to the
region's shopping and employment centers; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make certain budget increases for professional services using
unanticipated revenues;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following program categories in the 1999 budget, as adopted by Ordinance
No. 1860, are hereby amended to read as follows:
GENERAL FUND 000
Revenues:
000 291 740 Estimated Beginning Unreserved Fund Balance ........$420,000
000317500 Gambling Excise Taxes .........................80,000
Total Revenues $500.000
Expenditures:
000 20 532 200 40 Other Services and Charges $500.000

Section 2. Ordinance No. 1860 is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of
estimated revenues and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing increases in
revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the
necessary changes in the 1999 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item entries
and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to revenues and appropriations as set forth in this
ordinance.

Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance or its application to any person or situation should be held to be invalid or
unconstitutional for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this
ordinance or its application to any other person or situation.
Section 5. Effective Date. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the
official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force and effect five (5) days after
passage and publication as provided by law.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1999 BUDGET
ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1860, PROVIDING FOR
UNANTICIPATED REVENUES AND BEGINNING FUND BALANCE
AND PROVIDING FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES EXPENDITURES
IN THE GENERAL FUND (000) TO SUPPORT A PREFERRED LIGHT

On %9 the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed
Ordinance No. /js'7O providing for unanticipated revenues and beginning fund
balance and providing for professional services expenditures in the General Fund to support
a preferred light rail alternative; providing for severability and establishing an effective date.
The full text of this ordinance will be mailed without charge to anyone who submits
a written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
