Ordinance No. 79
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE 1996 BUDGET
ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 1763, INCREASING ESTIMATED
BEGINNING FUND BALANCE, INCREASING ESTIMATED SALES
TAX REVENUES, AND ADDING NEW GRANT REVENUES FROM
THE STATE; PROVIDING UNANTICIPATED EXPENDITURES FOR
POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS, ESTIMATED
ENDING FUND BALANCE REDUCTION, AND CERTAIN
INTERDEPARTMENTAL TRANSFERS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that additional Police and Fire overtime are necessary
to the public safety requirements of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City has additional Beginning Fund Balance available, anticipated Sales
Tax Revenues, and certain budget savings to provide for the unanticipated expenditures; and
WHEREAS, grant funding from the State has become available for Community Trade
and Economic Development (CTED) program; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to make appropriate budget transfers to reflect actual
budgetary requirements such as transfer of CTR Program between Public Works and
Community Development Department;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following program categories in the 1996 budget, as adopted by
Ordinance No. 1763, are hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 2. Ordinance No. 1763 is hereby amended by revising the summary of totals of
estimated revenues and appropriations and the aggregate total to reflect the foregoing
increases in revenues and appropriations as set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance.
Section 3. The Finance Director is hereby authorized and instructed to effectuate the
necessary changes in the 1996 budget and to make all necessary and appropriate line item
entries and adjustments in order to reflect the increases to revenues and appropriations as set
forth in this ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance should be held to
be invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity or
unconstitutionality shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of any other section,
sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance.
Section 5. This ordinance or a summary thereof shall be published in the official
newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force five (5) days after passage and
publication as provided by law.

On /.1/4 /9 Co the City Council of the City of Tukwila passed Ordinance
No. 7 8/ amending the 1996 Budget to provide for unanticipated expenditures for
Police and Fire Department operations, increasing estimated beginning fund balance and
estimated sales tax revenues, including new grant revenues from the state, reflecting internal
transfers; providing for severability and establishing an effective date.

written request to the City Clerk of the City of Tukwila for a copy of the text.
