ORDINANCE NO. 950 9 REP E ALE D
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TRANSFERS WITHIN THE
ANNUAL BUDGET, AND AMENDING SECTION 1, ORDINANCE 431,
AND TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.08.010
PURPOSE. The Tukwila City Council finds that unlimited
transfers within the annual budget as authorized by statute could
have .an adverse impact on the fiscal planning for the city, and further
finds that such transfers could lead to abuse of this authority. The
City Council determines that further conditions on the authority of
the Mayor to transfer funds is in the best interest of the public
welfare and the City of Tukwila. It is essential that the annual budget,
as set by the City Council in public hearings, remains closely to that
determination, unless amended by the City Council in public meetings.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
That Section 1, Ordinance 431 and Tukwila Municipal Code
Section 2.08.010 are each amended to include new paragraphs as follows:
NEW PARAGRAPH (2): Transfers shall be limited to
appropriations within a Department. and are further limited to the
amount of $50.00. not to exceed a frequency of one transfer per month
for each Department. Any transfer in excess of $50.00 shall be by
Ordinance.
Renumber paragraphs (2) and (3) to read (3) and (4).
