NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Tukwila City Council will hold a public hearing on
Monday, July 22, 2013 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Tukwila City Hall,
6200 Southcenter Blvd., Tukwila, WA to consider the following:
The City is considering renewing, until May 31, 2014, a moratorium on medical
cannabis collective gardens and dispensaries. A public hearing will be held and, if
adopted, a work plan and findings of fact will be established. On August 15, 2011,
pursuant to RCW 35A.63.220, the City Council of the City of Tukwila, Washington
adopted Ordinance #2348 establishing a twelve month moratorium prohibiting the
establishment, location, operation, licensing, maintenance, or continuation of any
medical cannabis collective garden or any medical marijuana dispensary, whether for
profit or not for profit, asserted to be authorized or actually authorized under E2SSB
5073, Chapter 181, Laws of 2011, Chapter 69.51A RCW, or any other laws of the state
of Washington. On August 6, 2012, the moratorium was renewed for one year.
All interested persons are invited to be present to voice approval, disapproval, or
opinions on this issue. For those unable to attend in person, you may submit written testimony
to the City Clerk’s office until 5:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
Tukwila City Hall is wheelchair accessible. The City strives to accommodate people
