SUBSTITUTE
ORDINANCE NO. 933 AN ORDINANCE fixing the amount of compensation
for the Positions of Mayor and Councilmembers
R EP E AL E 0 13i of the City of Tukwila; amending Section 1 of
fD Ord- ce 492 and T.M.C. 2.04.210; Section II
of Ordinance 492 and T.M.C. 2.08.020; and
adding a new section to each.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1, Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35.24.090, each

of the City of Tukwila shall receive 9-eGG pee mee44mg gee each 3'e me

SECTION 2. Pursuant to the provisions of RCW 35.24.090, the person
holding the position of Mayor of the City of Tukwila shall receive a
monthly salary of ;$88.88) seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00).
NEW SECTION ADDED. SECTION 3. Effective Date. The effective date
of this ordinance shall be January 1, 1916 and shall apply to the positions
of Mayor and those council positions which terms commence in January, 1976,
and thereafter. Persons holding council positions which commenced in
January 19/i shall receive a monthly compensation of forty, dollars ($40.00)
per month.

Ladies and gentlemen:
I hereby notify the City Council that I veto Ordinance 933,
fixing the amount of compensation for Mayor and Councilmembers.
It is my personal objection that $750 per month is too high as
salary for a part -time Mayor.
