The house is set back approximately 25 feet from the front v N lot 'inc. If a hydrant was installed at the end of the driveway on 150 the hydrant would be o - close to the maximum distance of 250 feet from the house. David referred me to the Fire w w Department and said that they had the final authority to make the decision, H r- I then met with .Lt, Don Tomaso at the Tukwila Fire Department. We reviewed the site plans and di discussed the requirements. Don stated that the water pressure and flow had to be 1000gpm with 20psi on 150 street and that the distance from the new hydrant to the house be within about o I- 10% of the 250 foot requirement. He also stated that the hydrant would need to be installed prior to final inspection of the house and the sooner the better. A new hydrant would also benefit more houses rather than a sprinkler system benefiting only one. t . According to the water availability certificate from the water district, the pressure and flow is . adequate. The distance is also within the above requirement. There is a good location for a new hydrant in direct line with the driveway to minimize the distance. Therefore, we would like to install a fire hydrant in lieu of a sprinkler system for the above house. Since the house is now !Tamed and will soon be sheetrockcd, this decision is time sensitive. If for any reason this plan is not acceptable, please contact me immediately.
