CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
Immediately following COW Meeting
CALL TO ORDER:
Calling the meeting to order at 9:23 p.m. was Mayor Steven M. Mullet.
ROLL CALL:
Calling the roll of Council was Bob Baker, Deputy City Clerk. Present were Council President Jim
Haggerton; and Councilmembers Joe Duffle, Joan Hernandez, Pam Carter, Pamela Linder and Dave
Fenton.
DUFFIE MOVED; HERNANDEZ SECONDED; TO EXCUSE THE ABSENCE OF COUNCILMEMBER
DENNIS ROBERTSON. The motion carried 6 -0.
OFFICIALS:
Steven M. Mullet, Mayor; Rhonda Berry, City Administrator; Lucy Lauterbach, Legislative Analyst; Bob
Baker, Deputy City Clerk; and Alan Doerschel, Finance Director.
CONSENT AGENDA:
Approval of Vouchers #307633 307817. in the amount of 5840,485.35
DUFFIE MOVED; HERNANDEZ SECONDED; TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS
PRESENTED. The motion carried 6 -0.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
9:25 p.m.
Approve position of Business Community Liaison in the Tourism and Marketina Division of the
Finance Department
Clerical note: This item was discussed earlier in the evening during a Committee of Whole meeting.
No additional discussion was held during this meeting.
LINDER MOVED; FENTON SECONDED; TO APPROVE THE POSITION OF BUSINESS
COMMUNITY LIAISON IN THE TOURISM AND MARKETING DIVISION OF THE FINANCE
DEPARTMENT.*
Discussion: Councilmember Hernandez noted the salary for this position would not be paid from City
of Tukwila general funds. Rather, it will be paid by Lodging Tax income at the rate of 60% (by SeaTac)
and 40% (by Tukwila).
*The motion carried 6 -0.
HERNANDEZ MOVED; DUFFIE SECONDED; TO ADJOURN THE SPECIAL
MEETING, RECONVENE THE COMMITTEE OF WHOLE AND GO IMMEDIATELY
INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION AFTER A 5- MINUTE RECESS. The motion carried 6 -0.
