ORDINANCE NO 923
REPEALED BY 1995
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13.08.040 OF THE
TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE AND ORDINANCE NO. 486
REGARDING UTILITY UNDERGROUNDING REQUIREMENTS
ALLOWING CERTAIN FACILITIES TO BE EXCEPTED
FROM CHAPTER REQUIREMENTS BY THE ADDITION OF
A NEW SUB SECTION (6).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN
That Section 13.08.040 of the Tukwila Municipal
Code and ordinance 486 be amended as follows:

13.08.040 Facilities excepted from chapter requirements.
This chapter shall not apply to the following facilities:
1. Electric utility substations, padmounted transformers
and switching facilities not located on the public
right -of -way where site screening is, or will be,
provided in accordance with Section 13.08.080 (2);
2. Electric transmission systems of a voltage of 110 kv
or more (including poles and wires) and equivalent
communication facilities where such facilities are
not located upon, along, or over the publicly dedi-
cated streets of the city, or within the right -of -way
thereof;
3. Ornamental street lighting standards;
4. Telephone pedestals and other equivalent communica-
tion facilities;
Approved as to Form:
5. Police and fire sirens, or any similar municipal
equipment, including traffic control equipment.
6. Those facilities described in Section 18.08.070
providing service from the main distribution facil-
ities to a detached single- family residential unit,
where said main distribution facilities are not
presently installed underground; provided, however,
the excepted facilities will be installed underground
at the time of the underground installation of said
main distribution facilities as designated by The
Capital Improvement Program for Residential Under-
ground Utilities.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, And approved by the Mayor at a regular meeting thereof
