The gage of the deck, purlins, and braces are greater then the original members they replaced. The connections are also better than the original building. From a structural point of view, the building is safe for occupancy. While this report makes reference to observations of certain items of work, it should not be construed that other work not mentioned was acceptable or even observed. As I explained before, the owner would like to see the building rebuilt as soon as possible. LI p ° ui We interviewed several contractors and have selected CHG Building Systems to v repair the building. They have extensive experience with this particular building as : Z E, • f they have been making repairs to it for many years. They also have a great deal of experience with pre- engineered buildings. They are on site now and will be ordering new deck, roof purlins and wall girts as soon as possible. Due to the nature of the building use, negative air pressure needs to be maintained in order to meet pollution control standards. The insurance adjustor involved in the project has expressed concern about the difficulty eliminating leaks in the building 1 skin if new and old members are connected together. As it looks now, it is possible " that the entire skin of the building may need to be replaced in order to eliminate the possibility of leaks. It is also possible that all of the roof purlins and wall girts will need to be replaced in order to expedite the removal of the skin and to provide • adequate support for the new roof and wall decking.
