HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0913 - Sewer Rates (Repealed by Ord 1714)ORDINANCE NO 913 REPEALED BY 1714 AMENDED BY 934 1401 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 14.16.030 AND 14.16.065 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE TO INCREASE SEWER CHARGES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN AS Section 1. That Section 14.16.030 of the Tukwila Municipal Code be amended to read as follows: 14.16.030 Schedule of Charges. Rates and charges for sewage service furnished and available for use shall be paid by the owner of the property and shall be as follows: (1) Residential Sewage Service. A flat rate of Four Dollars and Fifty Cents per month for each single family resi- dence shall be charged. (2) Multiple Dwelling. The rate of Four Dollars and Fifty Cents per month for the first dwelling unit and Four Dollars for each additional unit shall be charged. (3) School Sewage Service. The rate of Twenty Cents per month for each school occupant shall be charged for the nine school months. The rate for June, July and August shall be the commercial /industrial sewage rate. (4) Commercial and Industrial Sewage Service. A flat rate of Four Dollars and Fifty Cents per 9o0 cubic feet or less of water usage shall be charged. The rate for sewage service on premises using more than qoa cubic feet of water per month shall be Twenty Cents per additional 100 cubic feet. (5) Summer Sewage Rate For Commercial and Industrial. The cubic foot rate shall be based on the average water usage for the premises during the months from October through March, unless covered by an exempt meter. (6) Penalty Charge. There shall be a penalty charge of Fifty Cents per month on sewer accounts more than thirty days in arrears Section 2. That Section 14.16.065 of the Tukwila Municipal Code be amended to read as follows: 14.16.065 City -Metro Rate Increase. The City -Metro charges as provided for in Section 14.16.060 and as required by the Agreement for Sewage Disposal between the municipality of metropolitan Seattle and the city of Tukwila is set at the sum of Four Dollars and Twenty -Five Cents per residential customer and per residential customer equivalents. Section 3. The increase in rates set forth above shall be effective February 1, 1975. Section 4. The City Council finds that an emergency exists with regard to the passage of this ordinance and that it shall be passed immediately and be published as required by law.
