HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0909 - Compensation for Volunteer Firefighters (Repealed by Ord 1223)CITY OF TUKWILA WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO 909 REPEALED BY 1223 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO COMPENSATION FOR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 840 AND SECTION 2.48.030 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.48.030, Compensation of Volunteer Firemen. a. Volunteer Firemen shall receive a fee of $2.50 per hour for each fire call he answers and a fee of $2.50 per hour for each practice he attends, but shall receive no less than $5.00 per call or practice. b. Said fees shall be paid monthly upon receipt of an itemized statement from the Fire Chief. c. The total of all fees paid to Volunteer Firemen in a calendar year under the terms of this ordinance shall not exceed the appropriation for fire call fees in the annual budget. Section 2. This ordinance will take effect on the first day of January, 1975. Section 3. The City Council finds that an emergency exists with regards to the passage of this ordinance and that it should be passed immediately and published as required by law.
