We are proposing to provide a structural base to install a printing press at Rainier Color, z
located at 3311 S. 120 Pl., Tukwila, WA. Our structural engineer has determined that
• z o
driven steel pipe piles will be required to support the calculated loads under the two color w
units of the new press. We intend to drive eight 4" schedule 40 piles, one under each of D o ,
the eight adjustment feet and weld steel pile caps for the feet to rest on. The elevation of o
i the pile caps will be determined by the highest point of the floor, and the remaining to be
1 +/- 1/8" as to the highest. The floor overall is out of level approximately %Z" over the area .m o

Please refer to the McDowell pile log dated 02 -14 -00 for approximate depth, as the 2 -± adjacent site has similar soil makeup. We do not feel a Geotechnical engineer and testing z '-
should be required as the two areas are approximately 300 feet from each other. The
structural engineer also has designed each pile to be rated at 20,000 Lbs x 2. They will
each support about 4,100 Lbs.
We look forward to working with the City of Tukwila and will provide any other •
information that will assist in the process.
