ORDINANCE NO. 879 79
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 5.44.030 AND
5.44.130 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE TO
PROVIDE FOR SCREENING OF TOWING BUSINESS
STORAGE YARDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 5.44.030 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code be amended to read as follows:
5.44.030 License Application. Every person desiring
to operate or have charge of a tow truck business within the
City shall make a written application to the city clerk for a
license to do so.
Such application shall be referred to the Planning
Director for review to insure the proper location and screen-
ing of the proposed operation as set forth in Section 5.44.130.
Section 2. That Section 5.44.130 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code be amended to read as follows:
5.44.130 Location and base of operation. Premises
dsed for central offices and /or dispatching points within the
city shall be located within the areas of the city zoned as
C -M, industrial park, M -1, light industry, M -2, heavy industry,
or C -2, local retail business. Any storage yard and buildings
of a towing business which are located within the city limits
shall be within areas zoned as M -1 or M -2.
All impound and storage yards shall be suitably
screened from public rights -of -way in accordance with at least
one of the following measures:
A. A solid evergreen planting.
B. A decorative obscuring fence to include sparse
evergreen planting.

WASHINGTON, And approved by the Mayor at a regular meeting
