ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 14.16 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE
TO DEFINE MULTIPLE TENANT COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL UNIT SEWAGE SERVICE AND TO
CHANGE THE SEWAGE SERVICE RATES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Section 14.16.010 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code be amended by adding thereto Sub section (k) to
read as follows:
(k) "Multiple Tenant Commercial and /or
Industrial Unit Sewage Service means
sewage collection and /or sewage disposal
service furnished or available to the use
of premises used for renting, leasing, sub-
leasing, or sale to more than one tenant
within a single structure for the purpose
of retail or wholesale sales, commercial
or industrial use for the manufacture, pro-
cessing, assembly, disassembly or other
related use of similar nature.
Section 2. That Section 14.16.030 of the Tukwila
Municipal Code be amended to read as follows:
14.16.030. Schedule of Charges. Rates and
charges for sewage service furnished and
available for use shall be paid by the owner
of the property and shall be as follows:
(1) Residential sewage service: A flat rate
of $4.50 per month for each single- family
residence shall be charged.
(2) Multiple dwellings: The rate of $4.50
per month for the first dwelling unit and
$4.00 for each additional unit shall be charged.
(3) School Sewage Service: The rate of 15
per month for each school occupant shall be
charged for the nine school months. The rate
for June, July and August shall be the Commer-
cial /Industrial sewage rate.

(4) Single Tenant Commercial and Industrial Sewage
Service: A flat rate of $4.50 per 700 cubic feet or
less of water usage shall be charged. The rate for
sewage service on premises using more than 700 cubic
feet of water per month shall be 154 per additional
100 cubic feet.
(5) Multiple Tenant Commercial and /or Industrial
Unit Service Charge: A flat rate of $4.50 per month
for the first unit and $4.00 for each additional unit
shall be charged.
(6) Summer Sewage Rate for Single Tenant Commercial
and Industrial: The cubic foot rate shall be based
on the average water usage for the premises during the
months from October through March unless covered by
an exempt meter.
(7) Penalty Charge: There shall be a penalty charge
of 50t per month on sewer accounts more than 30 days
in arrears.
Section 3. This Ordinance is to take effect June 1,
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA,
WASHINGTON, And approved by the Mayor at a regular meeting thereof
on April 8, 1974.
