Council President, Dennis Robertson, called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m. and led the audience in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
OFFICIALS
Present were Dennis Robertson, Council President; Councilmembers Joe Duffie, Joan Hernandez, Pam
Carter, Jim Haggerton, Pam Linder, and Verna Griffin.

SPECIAL WORK SESSION
Council President Robertson stated the purpose of the meeting is for the City Council to have a strategic
planning session regarding capital projects. No formal action will be taken at this meeting as the purpose
is for fact finding and discussion.
Kevin Fuhrer, Finance Director, provided an overview by way of a Powerpoint presentation on the
following topics:
1) Update on individual capital facilities projects (description, cost and funding)
a) Strategic capital facilities projects set by City Council in 2004.

Southcenter Parkway Extension (Tukwila South)
Klickitat Improvements
Tukwila Village
Urban Center Catalyst (TUC pedestrian bridge, transit center, urban core improvements)
Connectivity
Strander Boulevard Extension

SPECIAL ISSUES
Council President Robertson asked the Councilmembers if they had questions or concerns regarding the
City's capital projects and the timelines for completion.
The Councilmembers shared ideas, asked questions of Mayor Mullet and the staff, discussed funding
sources and options, and reviewed priorities. After consideration and discussion, it was determined the
Councilmembers were satisfied with the current objectives and schedule for the City's capital projects.
