HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 0846 - Posting of Political Signs (Repealed by Ord 1274) 0 Z CITY QF TUK WASHINGTON _REPEALED B Y 01 ORDINANCE NO. 846 ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 773 AND TITLE 19, SECTION 19.12.070 OF THE TUKWILA MUNICIPAL CODE, BY ADDING A SUB SECTION REGULATING THE POSTING OF POLITICAL SIGNS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: That Ordinance No. 773, Section 4, Sub section 3, be amended by adding thereto an additional paragraph to be designated Paragraph (M), to read as follows: (M) Political signs. Political signs, posters or bills promoting or publicizing candidates for political office or issues that are to be voted upon in an election shall not exceed twelve square feet in area and shall be located entirely on private property for a period not exceeding thirty days prior to any primary, general or special election; provided, however, that a suc- cessful candidate in the primary election shall not be obligated to remove or to have removed signs, posters or bills between the primary and general elections, and further provided that all signs, posters or bills shall be removed not later than the end of the fifth day following any primary election in the case of those candidates not surviving the primary, and not later than the fifth day following a general or special election with regard to all candidates and issues. It shall be the resposibility of the property owner to have signs, posters or bills removed. No political campaign signs of any type are per- mitted to be located uporb. ny utility pole, bridge, sidewalk or p -owned or operated vehicle, or any public property of any kind.
