Special Meeting
July 22, 2013 — 7:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Haggerton called the Special Tukwila City Council Meeting to order at 8:47 p.m. directly following
the Committee of the Whole meeting.
ROLL CALL
Melissa Hart, Deputy City Clerk, called the roll of the Council. Present were Councilmembers Joe Duffie,
Dennis Robertson, Allan Ekberg, Verna Seal, Kathy Hougardy, De'Sean Quinn and Kate Kruller.
CITY OFFICIALS
Jim Haggerton, Mayor; David Cline, City Administrator; Shelley Kerslake, City Attorney; Chris Flores,
Acting Fire Chief; Joyce Trantina, Project Analyst; Mary Miotke, Information Technology Director;
Melissa Hart, Deputy City Clerk.
CONSENT AGENDA
a. Approval of Vouchers: #363878- 363975, 360600 and #130701 - 130702 in the amount of
$1,190,509.34
MOVED BY DUFFIE, SECONDED BY ROBERTSON THAT THE CONSENT AGENDA BE APPROVED
AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED 7 -0.
MOTION CARRIED 7 -0.
8:49 p.m. Mayor Haggerton declared a brief recess to prepare for the Executive Session.
Mayor Haggerton announced the purpose of the Executive Session is to discuss Potential Litigation -
Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i); Pending Litigation - Pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(i); and
Collective Bargaining — Pursuant to RCW 42.30.140(4)(a)
It will last no more than 90 minutes, and no decisions will be made during the Executive Session.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Start: 8:55 p.m.
Attendees: Jim Haggerton, Mayor; David Cline, City Administrator; Shelley Kerslake, City Attorney;
Tukwila City Councilmembers Joe Duffie, Dennis Robertson, Allan Ekberg, Kathy Hougardy, Verna Seal,
De'Sean Quinn, Kate Kruller.
9:08 p.m. Stephanie Brown, Human Resources Director; Kim Gilman, Human Resources Analyst;
and Cabot Dow, City Negotiator entered the Council Chambers.
10:25 p.m. Mayor Haggerton went into the lobby of City Hall and announced that the
Executive Session will be extended to no later than 11:00 p.m.
End: 10:43 p.m.
10:43 p.m. Mayor Haggerton reconvened the Special Meeting.

ADJOURNMENT
10:44 p.m. MOVED BY QUINN, SECONDED BY DUFFIE THAT THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
TUKWILA CITY COUNCIL BE ADJOURNED. MOTION CARRIED 7 -0.
