SpaceSavers can effectively increase capacity as much as five times! They provide additional storage space by utilizing the cube in racks up to 20 feet high. These roll -out racks offer a new and convenient method of storing steel or other materials of various sizes and shapes in virtually any length and weight, be it long structurals or heavy loads of bars. A SpaceSaver Rack is a series of double sided, vertical stacked receptacles available in any number of levels up to 8 Tall. The receptacles roll out so they are easily accessed for loading or retrieving material with an overhead crane. No other special handling device is necessary, so anything handled by a crane can be stored in the racks. Any kind of crane can be used; twin -hook or single hoist, jibs, even boom trucks. All SpaceSavers have substantial weight capacities so they are well suited for heavy loads. This is the first practical method of storing long structural shapes, regardless of length, in any manner except flat on the floor. Each rack is complete in itself. They can be installed as need dictates, whether your application requires a single unit to relieve a localized need, or an entire system. They will improve efficiency and safety, but most importantly, provide more storage in less space -- that's why they're called SpaceSavers! tremendous labor savings. • • Increased Productivi SpaceSavers provide 100% accessibility resulting in The receptacles in which the material is stored roll out into an open aisle so they are completely exposed. These receptacles are easily moved in and out by turning control tubes with a hand crank. This saves untold labor hours by permitting direct loading into storage without need of stacking or piling, and makes it possible to remove any item or bundle without having to move any other. The contents of any rack can be pulled out the ends as with pigeon -hole racks, if desired. The top of the rack is stationary and open. Its full width and large weight capacity is ideal for storing heavy, bulky loads such as surplus stocks. Installed side -by -side, the racks share the same roll -out aisle adding further to their space savings. Besides improving access to inventory, SpaceSavers have other potential useages to further productivity. They can accumulate orders to expedite shipping, stage material next to a machine sta- tion, store dies next to a brake for easy changes, etc.. Any item, whether it is one piece or an entire bundle can be loaded or retrieved in approximately 5 minutes. One man with a crane is all that is necessary to utilize the racks and that is why they will pay for themselves in labor savings alone. • • A 10,000 lb. load of 20 foot steel bars is being loaded into a rolled out receptacle. SpaceSavers are Versatile • Models are available for almost any application, regardless of material size or available space. Standard racks can be furnished 4 Tall plus top up to 8 Tall and in lengths ranging from 12' to 60'. There are four basic receptacle sizes, 20 ", 24 ", 30" or 36" wide in either 12" or 15" heights. Each is designed with a specific advantage that has been tested and proven over many years of service. Rugged, Safe, and Easy to Use Extremely strong and durable, SpaceSavers are constructed to stand up to the demands of storing steel. Their simplicity and toughness make them practically maintenance free because there is little to service or break. They enhance safety in the storage area by eliminating the hazard of toppling piles. The improved access they provide minimizes man - handling that often leads to injuries. Operating the racks is as easy as turning a crank. SpaceSavers have many more benefits that add to their ease of use. They will organize the storage area for better inventory control as well as make it easier and faster to locate an item. Also, their use will result in a more orderly and well kept warehouse. Increased density, labor savings, flexibility, durability, safety and simplicity. How's that for advantages? 4 ■ • • A worker retrieves 60 foot long angles from a rack. This 4T -60' unit has 290,000 lb. capacity. Working from an electric cage, an operator conveniently hooks slings to an 8 "steel round. Cages, or another alternative elevating device, are necessary f . r..n .,...L.. • Single -Sided and Custom Racks SpaceSavers Aren't Just for Metal! Anything handled by a crane can be stored in the racks- dies, printing rolls, fixtures, extrusions, missiles and aircraft components are just a few examples of what some customers are putting in their racks. Different heights, widths, and lengths are available to fit a specific load, and adjust to the particulars of a facility or a layout. Single -Sided Design Saves Space SpaceSavers are available in a single -sided design. This model occupies 30% less space than a standard double -sided unit. It is perfect installed against a wall. • ■ Single -Sided Option • II • A tray for storage of small parts and short pieces in a receptacle. ...a ricer• Missiles are supported in specially designed carriers in a custom size rack.
