The regular meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor, Charles O. Baker, at 8 P.M. Councilmen present
were Stan Minkler, A. G. Radford, E. W. Ives and Jerry Hamilton.
Four bids for a used dump truck were received and opened. A
committee retired to examine the bids, and reported they recommended
they have more time to make a decision. It was moved by Mr. Minkler,
and seconded by Mr. Radford that the Council bring in a report on
January 16, 1961, motion carried.
The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved as
read. A letter from Mr. Clinton Heppenstall was read in which he
commended MR. Zepp and Mr. Long for solving a drainage problem
affecting his property.
Current bills were examined and upon motion ordered paid. The
report of the water dept. was read and placed on file.
This being the date set for a hearing on a petition for annexation
the Clerk read the petition and stated the hearing had been advertised
There being no written or oral objections to this petition Mr. Minkler
moved the Council find to its satisfaction that the petition complied
with the requirements of law and that the petition be accepted, that
an ordinancebe drawn up to annex the property described, Seconded by
Mr. Ives and carried.
Mayor Baker welcomed Mr. Paul MaKay, District Engineer of the
Washington State Department of Highways, who presented to the Council:

In which case the Council would not approve the rezone. Mr. Minkler
moved the Council accept the maps as the final Freeway routes, seconded
by Mr. Radford and carried.

reported 38 building permits issued in 1960 with a valuation of
$207,900 and $485.00 in fees. Mr. Minkler requested he be relieved
as Building Inspector. Mayor Baker granted Mr. Minkler's request,
commending him for his very faithful conduct and manner of handling
his position as Inspector. Mayor Baker appointed Mr. George Long

repaired by Mr. Long, also 57th So. muddy and slippery. which he
considers the responsibility of the developers. Mayor Baker stated he
would contact Mr. Burzenski regarding the road. Mr. Minkler moved
Mr. Zepp be authorized to contact Mr. Burzenski when the road, 57th
Ave. So., needed maintenance, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
