PRESENTATIONS No presentations. H. BUSINESS AGENDA A. Amendment to Lease Agreement with Timothv O'Brien Kevin reported that staff is requesting an 18 month extension of the current lease of the building space which houses the City's Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) located at 14661 Tukwila International Boulevard. The current lease expires June 30, 2007, and will be extended to December 31, 2008, upon full Council approval. Rent is currently $1,400 per month and will remain as such. There are no other changes to the contract. Staff is requesting forwarding the agreement to tonight's Regular Meeting due to the contract expiration date. After a brief discussion, the Committee felt it may be worthwhile at some point to visit the recently opened Des Moines Police Department Substation/Neighborhood Resource Center located at Safeway Plaza (Highway 99 and 272 UNANIMOUS APPROVAL. FORWARD TO JUNE 18 REGULAR MEETING. B. Mav Sales Tax Report Kevin discussed the sales tax report that he submitted to the Committee. Changes that Dennis recommended at the last sales tax report update were incorporated, and the Committee was complimentary of the three year comparison. Kevin noted the increase amount of sales tax collected for March, but attributed it almost solely to sales tax collected on new construction activities. The Committee briefly discussed the streamlined sales tax issue. Kevin explained that the Department of Revenue has not yet determined mitigation. The first mitigation distribution is expected to be December 31, 2008 for the first effected quarter (streamlined sales tax goes into effect July 1, 2008). Currently, the revenue receipts are two months behind, and it would not be inaccurate to expect the receipts to be three months behind with the implementation of streamlined sales tax. Due to the potential impacts of the streamlined sales tax, the Committee felt that it may be helpful to take a look at the City's bonding capacity and debt service in order to make conservative budget estimates. Additional discussion ensued regarding property tax limits and the potential value of undeveloped areas. INFORMATION ONLY. M. ANNOUNCEMENTS No announcements. W.
