2: No changes shall be made to the approved plans unless approved by the design professional in responsible charge and the
Building Official.
3: All mechanical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Permit Center
(206/431 - 3670).
4: All permits, inspection records, and approved plans shall be at the job site and available to the inspectors prior to
start of any construction. These documents shall be maintained and made available until final inspection approval is
granted.
5: Prior to final inspection a written statement from the roofing contractor shall be required. The statement shall
confirm the fire classification of the roof assembly that was installed.
6: All construction shall be done in conformance with the approved plans and the requirements of the International
Building Code or International Residential Code, International Mechanical Code, Washington State Energy Code.
7: There shall be no occupancy of a building until final inspection has been completed and approved by Tukwila building
inspector. No exception.
8: Remove all demolition rubble and loose miscellaneous material from lot or parcel of ground, properly cap the sanitary
sewer connections, and properly fill or otherwise protect all basements, cellars, septic tanks, wells, and other
excavations. Final inspection approval will be determined by the building inspector based on satisfactory completion of
this requirement.
9: Manufacturers installation instructions shall be available on the job site at the time of inspection.
10: All construction noise to be in compliance with Chapter 8.22 of the City of Tukwila Municipal Code. A copy can be
obtained at City Hall in the office of the City Clerk.
11: All plumbing and gas piping work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the Cityof Tukwila
Permit Center.
12: All electrical work shall be inspected and approved under a separate permit issued by the City of Tukwila Building
Department (206 - 431- 3670).
13: VALIDITY OF PERMIT: The issuance or granting of a permit shall not be construed to be a permit for, or an approval of,
any violation of any of the provisions of the building code or of any other ordinances of the City of Tukwila. Permits
presuming to give authority to violate or cancel the provisions of the code or other ordinances of the City of Tukwila
shall not be valid. The issuance of a permit based on construction documents and other data shall not prevent the
Building Official from requiring the correction of errors in the construction documents and other data.

The following narrative describes the proposed and accepted work by the owner's agent
for reroofmg of the above referenced property. We have attached a roof plan,
specification, and UL Fire Rating per the permit instructions as well.
1. Remove all existing roofing and sheet metal flashings associated with the roofing
and legally dispose of the same off site. The existing roofing is a conventional
built -up roof system with a granular cap sheet surfacing. 7/8" fiberglass leveling
board is in place at this time and will be removed along with balance of roofing.
2. Inspect decking and report any deficiencies to the owner for instructions as to
how to proceed. If decking replacement is required we will request that the City
of Tukwila inspect as well.
3. Over a sound and clean wood deck install a GAF built -up roof system consisting
of a nailed 28 lb base sheet and a mopped SBS Granulated Ruberoid reinforced
cap sheet.
4. Replace all flashings with like kind.
5. Reflash all drain, scuppers, and overflows.
6. Reflash all electrical, plumbing, and gas jacks.
7. Replace all exposed wood conduit and gas line supports.

"Ruberoid 20" or "Ruberoid Modified Base Sheet" may be utilized as an alternate to Type G2 base sheets in any of the following Classifications.
1/2-in. thick (minimum) gypsum board or 1 /4 -in. thick (min) G -P Gypsum Corp. "DensDeck ® Roofboard," "DensDeck Prime® Roofboard" or
"DensDeck DuraGuard TM Roofboard" may be used in any existing noncombustible deck Classification. When this is done, the resulting roofing
system is acceptable for use over combustible (15/32 -in. minimum) roof decks. However, the butt joints in the gypsum board and G -P Gypsum
Corp. "DensDeck ® Roofboard," "DensDeck Prime® Roofboard" or "DensDeck DuraGuard •" Roofboard" are to offset a minimum of 6 -in. with the
butt joints in the roof deck. If polystyrene is part of the roof system, it must be placed below the overlayment board.

"GAF Stratavent Eliminator Venting Base Sheet ( Nailable)" may be mechanically attached or hot mopped over noncombustible decks and as a
recover over existing roof systems.
GAFGLAS Perlite Insulation may be utilized as a cover board over "EVERGUARD" insulation in any of the following systems.
Unless otherwise Indicated, the roof insulation is mechanically fastened, adhered with hot mopping asphalt or urethane insulation adhesive.

ASPHALT FELT SYSTEMS WITH HOT ROOFING ASPHALT
Type G2 asphalt glass mat base sheet ( "GAFGLAS #75 Base Sheet" or "GAFGLAS #80 ULTIMA") is a suitable alternate for Type G1 asphalt glass
fiber ply sheet ( "GAFGLAS Ply 4" or "GAFGLAS Ply 6 ") in the Class A, B or C roof systems indicated below.

Dear Jennifer:
We are requesting an extension of the permit referenced above. The project was put on
hold due to the requirement to simultaneously install insulation below the deck while
performing the reroofing work in order to meet Washington Energy Code. Due to the
tenant activities within the building, which are monitored by the FDA, the owner /agent
was unable to perform insulation installation while the reroofing work was to take place.
It is our understanding that the owner /agent will be insulating the building above the roof
deck when reroofing commences this summer. The project is re- bidding and it is our
understanding that award should take place within the next 30 -45 days. We request the
full 180 day extension.
The valuation of the project will increase relative to the original valuation on which the
original permit was based. At the time of award, and based on the new valuation, the
permit will need to be reissued and the permit cost increased accordingly.
If you have any questions regarding the information provided above please do not
