A Special meeting of the Tukwila Town Council was called to
order by the Mayor,. Charles G. Baker, at 8 :00 p.m. to discuss
proposed sewers and water lines. Councilmen present were Stan
Minkler, A. G. Radford and E. W. Ives. Also present were John
Strander, Chairman Tukwila Planning Commission, Mr. Drugge and
Howard T. Haystad of Harstad Associates, John Ehrlichman, town
attorney, Wells B. McCurdy, Vice pres. Soutncenter and Vice Pres.
Puget Western and A. P. Burzenski, Project Engineer with John
Graham Co. A number of Tukwila residents were also present.
Mr. Drugge explained the Comprehensive Plan for sewer system
in this area and also the interim plan for the industrial area.
Mr. Ehrlichman discussed the various methods of setting up a
Sewer District and the different ways of financing same.
Mr. Ives moved Council authorize John Ehrlichman proceed to
acquire easements for the sewer line and for a lagoon site,
seconded by Mr. Minkler and carried.
Mr. Ives moved the adoption of heselution No. 132, which
authorized the Mayor, Charles 0. Baker, to enter into a contract
with Howard T. Harstad Associates for the preparation of Plans
for the sewer development, seconded by Mr. Radford and carried.
By motion meeting adjourned at 10 :15 P.M.
