CITY OF TUK WASHINGTON n ORDINANCE NO. 750 'EALED BY 96 b AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 571, FIXING THE FEE FOR DOG LICENSES IN THE AMOUNT OF $6.00 AND FOR CAT LICENSES IN THE AMOUNT OF $3.00. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: That Ordinance No. 571, Section 2, be amended to read as follows: "Section 2. Dog and Cat Licenses Required. "Sub- section A. License Requirement. "All dogs and cats harbored, kept or maintained in the City of Tukwila over four months of age shall be licensed and registered annually, provided, however, that dogs kept in kennels need not be licensed annually while kept at such kennel and while such kennel is duly licensed as provided in City of Tukwila Ordinance No. 188. "Sub- Section B. Fees. "Dog and cat licenses shall be issued by the Tukwila City Clerk upon application and payment of an annual license fee made payable to the King County Treasurer in the amount of $6.00 for dogs and $3.00 for cats. The annual license fee shall become due and payable on January 1st of each year. Applications for dog or cat licenses shall be on forms provided bj the Animal Control Authority. No pro ration of a license fee for a portion of the calendar year shall be made. All license tags issued herein shall be securely affixed to a substantial collar, harness or other means which shall be worn by the dog or cat at all times. As an alternative to a license tag, an animal may be identified as licensed by being tattooed on its right ear or on its inside -1- w J 411 410 right thigh or groin with the license number approved or issued by the Animal Control Authority. "Sub- section C. Penalty. "A late penalty in the sum of $2.00 shall be charged on all applications received after January 31s: of each year, provided, however, that a dog or cat acquired during the year shall be licensed within thirty days from the date of its acquisition, and in such cases the late penalty shall be charged only on applications received after the expiration of that thirty day period. "Sub- section D. Fees Collected. "All fees and fines collected under this Ordinance shall be deposited in the County Current Expense Fund. The City of Tukwila shall be paid from the County Current Expense Fund for all dog and cat license issued within the City of Tukwila the sum of ,o 0 for dog licenses and o 50 for cat licenses. "Sub- section C. Non Applicability. "The provisions of this Section shall not be intended to apply to dogs whose owners are non residents temporarily within the City, nor to dogs brought into the City for the purpose of participating in any dog show nor to seeing eye dogs properly trained to assist blind persons for the purpose of aiding themin going from place to place, nor shall it apply to dogs or cats in the custody of a veterinarian or animal shelter. The fees con- tained herein shall become effective beginning with the 1973 license year.
