1. Intermittently operated whole house ventilation systems shall be constructed to have the
capability for continuous operation, and shall have a manual control and an automatic control, such
as a clock timer.
2. Integrated forced -air ventilation systems shall have a 6 -inch diameter or equivalent outdoor
air inlet duct connecting a terminal element on the outside of the building to the return plenum of
the forced -air system.
The outdoor air inlet duct shall be equipped with a damper or other device that regulates air
flow to a minimum of 0.35 air changes per hour but not greater than 0.50 air changes per hour
under normal operating conditions.
The outdoor air connection to the return air stream shall be located to prevent thermal shock
to the heat exchanger.
3. The following calculations describe the range for minimum and maximum air changes per
hour under normal operating conditions.

MINIMUM VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS
FOR RESIDENTIAL OCCUPANCIES FOUR STORIES AND LESS
Chapter 51 -13 W.A.C.
Source specific and whole house ventilation systems are required for residential occupancies. In addition,
exhaust ventilation fans must provide specific performance ratings and (in the case of the whole house fan)
specific "Sone" ratings.
Fill in the exhaust fan schedule below with the fan manufacturer's name, model number and performance
rating. Secondly, check the criteria that applies to your design.

• Allowable moment was increased for repetitive member usage.
• Deflection Criteria: STANDARD(LL:L/480, TL1J240). Additional checks follow.
Loft overttang(LL :0,2 ", TL:0.2 ").
- The load conditions considered in thls design include Alternate member loading;
- The allowable shear stress (Fv) has not been increased due to the potential of splits, chocks and shakes. See NOS for
applicability of increase.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- IMPORTANTI The analysis presented is output from software developed by-Trus Joist MacMillan(TJM). The specific product
application, Input design loads, and stated dimensions have been provided by the software user. This output has not been reviewed
by a TJM Associate.
- Solld sown lumber analysis is in accordance with 1991 NDS methodology and is solely presented for comparison purposes. Program
limitations and assumptions about this analysis are available through the software's On - line Help. Trus Joist MacMillan does not
worrant trio analysis nor the performance of solid sawn lumber materials.
- Allowablo Stress Design methodology was used for Building Code BOCA analyzing the solid sawn lumber material listed above.
Bracing(Lu): All compression edges (top and bottom) must be braced at 10' 10" o/c unless detailed otherwise. Proper attachment
end positioning of lateral bracing is required to achieve member stability.

Re: Hilltop Homes - 13646 51st Avenue South
August 7, 1997
Dear Sir:
The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by
The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the
following concerns:
1. Your street address must be conspicuously posted on
the building and shall be plainly visible and legible from
the street. Numbers shall contrast with their background.
(UFC 901.4.4)
2. All required hydrants and surface access roads shall
be installed and made serviceable prior to and during the
time of construction. (UFC 901.3)
3. For short plat development (four single family homes
or less), hydrants shall be placed so that a hydrant is
within 250 feet of a building. Distance from a hydrant to
a building is measured along the path of vehicular travel.
Any overlooked hazardous condition and /or violation of the
adopted Fire or Building Codes does not imply approval of
such condition or violation.
