Provide smoke detectors in each sleeping room and in the hallway or area which provides access to sleeping rooms. Smoke detectors shall be supplied power from the house service and shall have battery backup. The alarm sounded by any smoke detector shall sound alarms in all sleeping rooms. 2. The City of Tukwila has an undergrounding ordinance requiring the power, telecommunications, and cable service lines be underground from the point of connection on the pole to the house. The City allows overhead power across the right -of -way and placement of a pole on your side of the street will allow you to do this. You are only required to go underground from the property line to the service entrance at the house. The estimate that you received from Seattle City Light included going underground across the right -of -way which is not required by our ordinance. Therefore, your cost will be substantially reduced and the request for waiver of the undergrounding ordinance is not applicable.
