Memorandum of Understanding
Between
the City of Tukwila
and the
Duwamish Improvement Club.
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide an understanding between the City
of Tukwila (City) and the Duwamish Improvement Club (Club) for use of facilities at
the Tukwila Community Center for monthly meetings and associated activities.
1. The City agrees to permit the Club to use the Social Hall of the Tukwila
Community Center for monthly meetings. The use of the facilities shall be at no
charge to the Club.
2. The Club shall provide a list of dates to the City as soon as they are established
to reserve the Social Hall. In the event that the Social Hall is not available due
to pre -arranged commitments, the City shall provide a suitable room at the
Community Center.
3. Use of the Social Hall shall include access to the coffee service. The Club is
asked to provide their own coffee for the machine.
4. The City shall allow the Club to hold one fund raising event at the Community
Center annually. It is understood and agreed that all proceeds from the event
shall be directed toward community causes and no proceeds shall be used for
private gain or political purposes. The Club shall be required to provide at least
six months notice as to the date of the event and shall agree to demonstrate
flexibility if conflicting activities are scheduled for the center at the preferred
time.
5. The City agrees to work through its Arts Commission with the Club for the
purposes of displaying historical photos and memorabilia at the Community
Center in recognition of the Duwamish/Allentown Community.
This Agreement shall be in effect upon signature by the parties and shall remain in
effect until terminated by either party. Termination shall be by letter and if enacted
by the City, shall provide for ninety (90) days notice.
