Panel type: ConCore SF: CSF1000 SETUP: Three ConCore SF: CSF1000 panels were mounted on steel blocks configured to provide support identical to Tate undeistructure systems (stringerless, cornerlock, snap -on stringer and standard duty bolted stringer). PROCEDURE: Loads were applied to the top surface of the panel by a hydraulic cylinder and measured via Morehouse Force Ring Gauge (S/N 51285). The loads were transmitted to the panel surface via a round indentor with a footprint contact area of one square inch. The panel was loaded at the center and at the midpoint of the edge of the panel and at the panel's "weakest point ". In Tate's case, the weakest point was found to be either the center or the center edge of the panel. The resultant deflections were measured from the top surface of the panel via dial gauges positioned directly in line with the applied load. The ConCore SF: CSF1000 panels were tested in accordance with the "Recommended Test Procedures for Access floors: Section 1 - Concentrated Loads" as published by the CISCA organization. RESULTS: Results of this test indicated that the panel was able to withstand the design load with a top surface deflection less than 0.100" anywhere on the panel surface. Permanent set in the panel after the design load was removed was less than 0.010 ". Design load: 1000 lbs. £A &BROWNE, INC. Panel: ConCore SF: CSF1000 Design Load: 1000 lbs. Understructure(s): Freestanding Cornerlock Snap -on stringer 2' bolted stringer 4' bolted stringer SETUP: A bare ConCore SF: CSF 1000 panel was mounted and supported on each undeistructure type described above. A safety restraining frame was used to restrain the horizontal movement of the mockup, but did not interfere with its vertical movement. PROCEDURE: The load was applied to the top surface of each panel by a hydraulic cylinder and measured by a Morehouse Force Ring Gauge (S/N 53002). The load was transmitted to the panel surface via a round indentor with a footprint contact area of one square inch. Panel 1 was loaded at the center. Panel 2 was loaded at the midpoint edge of the panel. Panel 3 was loaded at its "weakest point" (2" x 2" from the corner). The tests were performed following the "Recommended Test Procedure for Access Floors: Section 2 - Ultimate Loading" as published by the CISCA organization and as described herein. RESULTS: Each ConCore SF: CSF 1000 panel and understructure type was tested in all three locations and held for a period of 1 minute. The tests indicated that the panel was able to support at least two times its concentrated load without failure when supported on all understructures listed above. James Sherring . . SEISMIC ENVIRONMENT: Zone 3 PROJECT: Museum of Flight FINISHED FLOOR HEIGHT: 44" The lateral force due to seismic loads is determined by using the guidelines set forth in the • 1994 Uniform Building Code (UBC) Section 1630, Equation 30 -1. Equation 30 -1: Fp = Z Ip Cp Wp Fp = Lateral forces on a part of the structure and in the direction under consideration. Numerical coefficient dependent upon seismic zone. Project Requirement: Ip = 1.00 Cp = Numerical coefficient (horizontal force factor) which varies depending on type of structure; for access floor Cp = 0.75 [Table 16 -0] Wp = (Live load X 25 %) + (dead load) + (partition load) Live — The load superimposed by the use or occupancy of the building not including wind, load earthquake or dead load. One pedestal supports an area of 4 square feet, therefore, the lateral force on one pedestal equals (Fp x 4 = Fpedestal ) Fpedestal = 10.13 x 4 = 40.5 lb.
