HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-035 - South Central School District (SCSD) - Letter of Understanding Rainier SymphonyADDENDUM TO LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING City of Tukwila Tukwila School District Rainier Symphony RE 97-035 Modify as follows The City of Tukwila agrees 1 To sponsor the Rainier Symphony for its August through July performance season consisting of a minimum of five (5) concerts and weekly rehearsals at the Foster High School Performing Arts Center The City of Tukwila agrees to provide monetary support of the Rainier Symphony not to exceed $6,000 This monetary support will be paid in January each year All other parts of the Letter of Understanding as referenced above remain the same Signed this 18th day of February, 2000 A Mayor Steve Mullet, City of Tukwila 7 / Michael Iver, PhD , S'iperintendent — Tukwila School District Crai /L ll ) amen" President --Board of Trustees, Rainier Symphony 7 ,f ,ETTER OF UNDERSTANDING ( �� d lit 1,cam. c % e -ry-9 �—72 )'` City of Tukwila % , South Central School District 2 / l/% Rainier Symphony This serves as a letter of understanding between the City of Tukwila, the South Central School District, and the Rainier Symphony The City of Tukwila agrees 1 To sponsor the Rainier Symphony for its August through July performance season consisting of a minimum of five (5) concerts and weekly rehearsals at the Foster High School Performing Arts Center The City of Tukwila agrees to provide monetary support of the Rainier Symphony not to exceed $5,000 This monetary support will be paid in January each year 2 To advertise concert schedules and information regarding the symphony in newsletters and City publications 3 To promote the symphony to local service organizations 4 To sell concert tickets at Tukwila City Hall 5 To provide other support services as reasonable South Central School District agrees 1 To recognize the Rainier Symphony as a City of Tukwila sponsored user No rental fees will be charged, however, custodial fees will be assessed for concerts 2 To schedule weekly rehearsals at Foster High School Performing Arts Center It is understood that school sponsored events take precedence and that Foster High School will notify the symphony as soon as possible 3 To the best of its ability not to cancel or change performance dates at the Foster Performing Arts Center 4 To allow Rainier Symphony use of music stands and percussion instruments The Symphony agrees 1 To list the City of Tukwila as a sponsor 2 To give recognition to the South Central School District for use of the Foster High School facility 3 To provide a quarterly report to the City regarding attendance, number of rehearsals, and concert participation. 4 To provide the District with a $200 yearly equipment maintenance fee 5 To maintain in good working order music stands and percussion instruments, and to notify District of any damage which occurs 6 To put music stands, percussion instruments and chairs away after each use 7 If time and scheduling permits, to furnish at least one cultural enrichment program for the students of South Central School District. 8 If Rainier Symphony does not provide the five concerts within the performance year (August through July) the City shall be reimbursed $1,000 for each concert not performed.
