The, construction note that describes the typical exterior wall does not provide for the One-hour fire resistive wall construction that is required at the North property line exposure. Provide a proposed construction for a one-hour fire resistive assembly per UBC Table 7-B or an approved listed one-hour assembly. 2. The existing building was not provided with parapets per UBC 709.4.1. This was in compliance with code requirements because the building area was less than 1000 square feet. The proposed addition will cause the resulting building to exceed this threshold. Exit hardware and marking shall meet the requirements of the Uniform Fire Code. (UFC 1207 -1212) Exit doors shall be openable from the inside without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort. Exit doors shall not be locked, chained, bolted, barred, latched or otherwise rendered unusable. All locking devices shall be of an approved type. (UFC 1207.3) Dead bolts are not allowed on auxiliary exit doors unless the dead bolt is automatically retracted when the door handle is engaged from inside the tenant space. (UFC 1207.3) Gates and barriers shall be openable without the use of a key or any special knowledge or effort.
