The Budget Workshop consisted of a discussion of the following:
Review of the 2008 Budget year
2009 year -to -date revenues and expenses
o Possible scenarios to address anticipated budget shortfalls
An updated Six -Year Planning Model
Washington State Short Term Revenue Forecast
Mayor Haggerton announced that as of Monday, June 1, 2009, a 3% reduction will be implemented across the
City budget for the remainder of the year in order to address shortfalls as expected after review of recent sales tax
revenue reports.
Two Council requests resulted from this Workshop:
A copy of a revised Attachment A that includes a 5.5 reduction in sales tax for 2009 and 2010
Another Budget Workshop to be held sometime in September preferably after six months of sales tax
revenue reports are available for review
