Any property owner who is going to bum or demolish any structure, including, but not limited to, commercial buildings, or abandoned structures on private property. The purpose of the permit is to certify that the building is asbestos -free prior to demolition. Why must I file for a demolition permit with PSAPCA? I already filed one with the building department. Building departments do not regulate asbestos. Federal law requires the filing of a demolition permit with the Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency, and removal of all asbestos. • What should I do first?
