ORDINANCE NO. 6
AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency as a result
of fire and appropriating funds for the fire,
police, street departments and the parks and
public buildings fund.
WHEREAS, a fire occurred in the City of Tukwila on
September 24, 1970, damaging and destroying certain public
property and causing other public property to be useless which
was the property of the Tukwila Police, Fire and Street Depart-
ments, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of
order, public health and welfare that certain sums be trans-
ferred and appropriated for the Fire, Police and Street Depart-
ments and for the Parks and Public Buildings Fund.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. An emergency is hereby declared in the
Fire, Police and Street Departments as a result of the fire of
September 24, 1970.
Section 2. The following sums are appropriated from
the contingency fund for the following departments.
$5,000.00 to Fire Department Account No. 369
$5,000.00 to the Police Department Account No. 369
$5,000.00 to the Street Department Account No. 372.
Section 3. From the insurance proceeds on the fire,
the sum of $3,000.00 is appropriated for Parks and Public Build-
ings Account No. 55, for the construction of a temporary fire
station.
