AN ORDINANCE providing for the payment of a
cash indemnity bond for permits to use public
streets for hauling routes; adding a new
section to Chapter 11.16 Tukwila Municipal
Code.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUKWILA DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
New Section: There is added to Chapter 11.16 Tukwila
Municipal Code, a new section to become Chapter 11.16.051 as
follows:
11.16.051. Use of Public Street as Hauling Route.
It is unlawful to use any public street as a hauling route, with-
out a written permit from the City Supervisor and any user must
comply with all of the provisions of this title; provided that
nothing contained herein shall apply to street maintenance work
performed by the City for streets, sewer or water installation or
maintenance or improvement work authorized by ordinance, or pro-
jects under contract for the City. A hauling route is defined to
be a street of which an individual, corporation or any other entity
makes sustained useage by virtue of frequent or regular trans-
portation of dirt, debris, construction material, or any other
material whatsoever, which useage by virtue of weight or frequency
of use could or may cause new damage or injury to the street. Such
a permit should be accompanied by a Cash Indemnity Bond or sufficient
Surety Bond in an amount to be determined by the City Super-
visor and /or Street Committee in an amount deemed to be suffi-
cient to cover any anticipated damages or expense to the City
resulting from said hauling.
