When dirt and rust was removed, thicknesses of 0.31" and 0.38" were measured using ultrasonic inspection method. Additional inspection will be scheduled when pipes are exposed (12/13/99). Weld washers were used. Welding complies with AWS D1.1 -96 and AWS D1.3-89. At new entry door, seismic angles added at top of CMU wall are welded with 1" long by 3/16" fillets at 6" on centers at both sides of wall. Welds comply with AWS D1.1 -96. Keefe, Fire Chief The attached set of building plans have been reviewed by The Fire Prevention Bureau and are acceptable with the following concerns: 1 Maintain fire extinguisher coverage throughout. Portable fire extinguishers shall be securely installed on the hanger or in the bracket supplied, placed in cabinets or wall recesses. The hanger or bracket shall be securely and properly anchored to the mounting surface in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The extinguisher shall be installed so that the top of the extinguisher is not more than 5 feet above the floor and the clearance between the bottom of the extinguisher and the floor shall not be less than 4 inches. Extinguishers shall be located so as to be in plain view (if at all possible), or if not in plain view, they shall be identified with a sign stating, "Fire Extinguisher ", with an arrow pointing to the unit.
